Newport Cliffwalk, March 2019

My broad background has been my advantage.

Welcome,

During my early graduate school days, I studied biochemistry and worked with mammalian cell culture, biochemical tests, immunological tests. I received my M.S. from the Chemistry department at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. My work has included basic research, upstrean and downstream process development and manufacturing for a virus vaccine candidate. I have worked in several successful biotechnology companies.

After leaving biotechnology, I was a certified Rhode Island teacher and taught with students K-12. I loved working with kids.

I realized that I loved science too much to leave it, therefore I applied to graduate school again. This time I was interested in studying Data Science/bioinformatics. My goal is to receive a M.S. from the department of Bioinformatics at Worcester Polytechnic Inst. in Massachusetts. My desire to teach myself machine learning has been number one. My current project is a comparison of 6 different machine learning techniques.

Currently I co-organizer the Meetup/WebDev RI, and am a member of the Meetup/Providence Data Science Project.
